πΎ MEET BOO
Boo may be short in the leg, but she is certainly not short on personality.
This chunky little Blue Cattle Dog is built like a brick β low to the ground, solid and weighing 23 kgs β and she has plenty of attitude. Boo likes you to know she's there!
Confident and very people-focused, she loves meeting humans and is quite happy to greet strangers. She is affectionate, engaging and thoroughly enjoys human company.
π©Ί BOOβS BACKSTORY β AND HER BATTLE SCAR
Boo originally came into care through Condamine Vet Clinic after injuring her left front leg when she jumped from a ute. Her owners were unable to meet the cost of her veterinary treatment and surrendered her.
Fortunately, the injury was a flesh wound rather than a structural injury. Because of its awkward position around the elbow, it took some time to heal, but it has now healed very well.
Boo will always be left with a visible scar over the joint, but it is now simply part of her history rather than an active injury.
We rather think it suits her β every little blue brick deserves a battle scar, and Boo wears hers as just another part of her considerable charm.
β€οΈ PEOPLE ARE HER THING
Boo is much more interested in people than she is in other dogs. She is excellent with children and could happily live as an only dog, soaking up all the attention for herself.
In fact, we think Boo could make a particularly lovely companion for an older single person or couple looking for a devoted dog to share their everyday life.
She is house-trained and, despite her enthusiasm for life, isn't a jumper.
π DOGS NEED A LITTLE MORE TIME
Boo can live happily alongside dogs she knows at home, but unfamiliar dogs are a different story and she needs slower, thoughtful introductions.
Out in public she can actually be quite unsure of other dogs. On one memorable occasion, an eight-week-old Jack Russell puppy was apparently so intimidating that Boo turned herself into a rock and clung firmly to the ground!
So while Boo may project plenty of confidence in other areas of life, her new family will need to help build her confidence around unfamiliar dogs without forcing interactions.
Her leash walking also needs some more work, so continued positive training will be important.
π‘ BOO'S IDEAL HOME
Boo would suit a home where people, rather than other dogs, are the centre of her world.
She could be a great match for:
β A single person or couple
β An older person looking for companionship
β A family with children
β A home where she can be the only dog
β Someone willing to continue her leash training and gently build her confidence around unfamiliar dogs
Boo is still a young dog, so she needs regular exercise, stimulation and involvement in family life, but most of all she wants people of her own.
Solid, short-legged, confident and full of character, Boo is a little blue brick with a very big personality β and beneath all that attitude is a people-loving girl looking for somewhere to belong.
