Meet Poppy!

Poppy is a sweet girl who can find the shelter environment a little overwhelming, so she may come across as quite shy when you first meet her. With all the noise, new people and unfamiliar surroundings, Poppy tends to keep to herself and can take a little while to feel comfortable.

But Poppy has already shown us that there is so much more to her once she feels safe! In foster care, she really started to come out of her shell and showed off her much more playful and affectionate side. She absolutely loves a good butt scratch, and once she knows you, you may find her happily following you around the house just to see what you're up to.

Poppy is also a big fan of treats, which are a great way to win her over and help her feel more comfortable. Whether she's enjoying some tasty snacks, getting scratches in all the right places or having a playful moment, she has a lovely personality that doesn't always get the chance to shine while she's in the shelter.

Poppy would love a patient family who understands that she may need a little time to settle in and feel at home. A quieter environment where she can take things at her own pace would be ideal. Give her some time, plenty of treats and lots of love, and you're likely to discover a wonderfully affectionate and playful companion underneath that shy exterior.
