Meet Basil!
Basil is a handsome grey and white gentleman with a big personality and absolutely no hesitation in sharing his opinions. Confident, independent, and full of character, Basil knows exactly what he wants out of life, and he fully expects his humans to keep up.
This charming boy enjoys spending his days doing his own thing, whether that's supervising the household from a sunny windowsill, conducting important inspections around the home, or finding the perfect napping spot. While he's not one to constantly demand your attention, Basil firmly believes that when he does want something, it should be provided immediately.
A pat? Yes, thank you. Dinner served promptly? Obviously. A cozy spot on the couch? That's his now. Basil has mastered the art of politely but persistently making his wishes known, and he's looking for a family willing to accept their role as his devoted staff.
Don't let his independent streak fool you though. Basil enjoys companionship on his own terms and will happily stop by to collect affection, treats, and admiration before carrying on with his busy schedule. Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
