Luna Lovegood is the sweetest, kind-hearted little soul who genuinely wouldn’t hurt a fly.

It’s clear that Luna Lovegood has had a rough start to life and may have experienced some mistreatment. When she first came into care, she was scared of just about everything and it took some time for her to feel safe and build trust. But after spending time with her in foster care, her beautiful personality has really started to shine.

Luna Lovegood is now learning that it’s okay to play with toys, enjoy herself and curl up on a cosy bed without having to worry. She is very food motivated and absolutely loves treats, which makes training that little bit easier.

She is completely house trained and has been staying home for up to nine hours alongside my resident dog, a 4.5-year-old Staffy who she absolutely adores. I haven’t tested Luna Lovegood being home completely by herself, so I’m unsure how she would go without another dog around. Because of this, I think she would really thrive in a home with another resident dog, particularly one who can help bring out her confidence. When she is by herself, she can be noticeably more unsure.

Luna Lovegood knows basic obedience and is learning to walk on a loose lead. She does still pull a little, but she is such a willing learner and with consistent training, I’m confident she will continue to improve. She can be a little unsure on walks, particularly in new environments, but the progress she has made in such a short amount of time has been amazing.

Luna Lovegood is more fearful and unsure of people than she is of other dogs. She may bark initially when meeting someone new, particularly if she feels unsure of them, but she generally warms up with calm, slow and positive interactions. Once she trusts you, she is an incredibly affectionate and gentle girl.

Luna Lovegood has so much love to give and is really starting to discover what it means to feel safe, loved and part of a family. She just needs someone who is willing to continue building her confidence and show her that the world isn’t such a scary place.

She is such a beautiful girl and has come so far already.
