Meet Leo, a happy little lovebug with a goofy side and a serious talent for making everyone around him smile! 🦁💙

Leo is an 8-week-old Wolfhound X boy who is sweet, loving and always happiest when he’s with his people. He’s an energetic and outgoing puppy who loves nothing more than wrestling and playing with his siblings and foster siblings before settling back into the fun. Leo has been socialised with dogs both big and small and is a friendly little guy who enjoys being part of the action. He’s still quite excitable, so a home with children over 8 years would suit him best. Leo hasn’t been tested with cats yet. He can also get a little car sick, so his new family may need to give him some time and gentle practice to become a confident traveller.

Leo is doing well with his toilet training and is already learning his basic commands, including sit, wait, come and down. He sleeps happily in his pen near his foster carers overnight and is showing us that he’s eager to please and ready to learn. With consistency, positive reinforcement and plenty of encouragement, Leo will continue to build all those important puppy skills.

Leo is looking for an active family who wants their dog to be a genuine part of everyday family life. This affectionate boy loves being with his people, so he’ll thrive with a family who wants to include him in their adventures, playtime, training and downtime.

As a Wolfhound X, Leo is expected to grow into a large dog, so his forever family will need to be prepared for his future size and committed to continuing his training and socialisation as he grows. A secure, puppy-proofed yard will be important, along with plenty of mental stimulation, exercise and opportunities to learn.

Most of all, Leo wants a family who will welcome him inside, give him lots of love and help his sweet, goofy personality shine as he grows into a big, wonderful companion.

Leo’s adoption fee is $800 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.

He is in foster care in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
