🧁 Misty — Sweet as Vanilla Frosting

Misty is a 28kg American Staffordshire Terrier with a beautiful white coat and brown spots — just like vanilla frosting with chocolate sprinkles. And her personality is just as sweet!

Misty is a loving cuddle bug who adores being close to her people. Her favourite place is on the couch, where she’ll happily curl up beside you, sleep in your arms or try to fit her entire body on your lap! She also has an adorable habit of tippy-tapping her feet when she gets excited to see you.

She loves being involved in whatever you’re doing around the house, whether that’s brushing your teeth, vacuuming or heading into the backyard. She’s also perfectly happy to watch from afar, tail wagging whenever you look her way.

At home, Misty is an absolute gem. She is comfortable being left alone, non-destructive, crate-trained, muzzle-trained and has mastered the doggy door. She enjoys sunbaking in the backyard or snoozing on the couch while you’re away. She gets very excited when people arrive and will need some reminders about keeping all four paws on the floor.

Misty is friendly with people of all ages, including primary-school-aged children and seniors. She has not been exposed to babies, very young children or cats.

She is also excellent with handling and grooming and happily has her nails trimmed for treats and wears a raincoat when needed.

Misty has clearly had a life before rescue and was found as a stray. She previously had some skin issues, which have settled beautifully in foster care, although she may need some ongoing management in the future.

Walks are where Misty needs the most support. She is under-socialised and finds the outside world overwhelming, reacting strongly to bicycles, scooters and motorbikes. She can also pull strongly on lead, so she needs a confident, strong handler who is committed to ongoing training and, if required, medication to help her manage her triggers.

Misty also finds other dogs challenging, particularly small dogs, and will need to continue learning appropriate dog manners. For this reason, she is looking for a home where she can be the only dog.

Misty’s recipe for a happy life is simple: people, love, training, enrichment and plenty of calm. Give her those ingredients and you’ll have a wonderfully affectionate, funny and devoted companion.

Misty is ready to find her people and curl up on their couch, preferably their lap!
