Introducing the big boy with the big name, Great Dane, Eric Josef!

This stunning 2-year-old guy has come into our care under sad circumstances. His dad has passed away, and his mum has had surgery that has rendered her unable to care for him.

Although his family have told us that Eric Josef is wary of men and quite timid, within an hour of his arrival, he was being friendly to everyone he met. He is a little anxious but that is to be expected when everything is so new to him.

Eric Josef was quick to show his goofy side. He has such long legs that watching him frolicking is hilarious.

Despite his size, once he is in the car, Eric Josef is happy to lay down and enjoy the drive. Yes, he does take up the majority of the back seat, but he is calm and seems to enjoy the ride.

From what we understand, Eric Josef has lived outside and has not had a great deal of socialization. With his confidence building, we are starting to see him embrace all that the world has to offer. Eric has proven to be good with the other dogs he has met, and he walks ok on lead but does tend to want to be so close that he can accidentally get underfoot.

Although a bit shy initially, we have not seen a single ounce of aggression from Eric Josef. Even our vets said that he was very submissive and gentle to handle.
