Hi, we’re Oakley and Chip, best buddies and a bonded pair!

Nature
🍟 Chip, I’m 3 years old, and I’m a social champion! I absolutely love meeting new people, I’m incredibly friendly, and I’ll often lick you or give you little love bites (always gently). I’m a very energetic boy and I’m always in the mood to play, but I’ll also happily curl up on your chest and have a rest with you!

🕶️ Oakley, I’ve just turned 4 years old, and I’m the old soul of the pair. I haven’t always been a huge fan of affection, but recently I’ve become quite the lap cat and have even started approaching strangers. I love being close to my family, usually just outside of arm’s reach, but I’ll always be in the room. I spend a lot of my time resting in sunny areas, but when the mood strikes, I can be very playful too.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
We’ve both lived in a house with lots of cats for the past two years; however, we would be best suited to a household where we are the only pets.

I, Chip, have had some issues with one particular cat in the past, but with every other cat I’ve met, there have been no issues, and I’m very fond of my brother Oakley. We both just want to be the centre of your universe!

Neither of us has been tested with small children or dogs during the time we have been with Perth Rescue Angels.

Chip likes:

Chip dislikes:
❌ Vacuum cleaners
❌ Thunderstorms

Oakley likes:
✅ Sitting in high places where I can people-watch

✅ Indoor plants (be careful!)

Oakley dislikes:
❌ Being left alone (unless I’m with my brother)
❌ Pats on the back (I love a chin scratch or scratches behind the ears)

Our purr-fect home would be somewhere we can be the centre of attention, where we can play with you and relax with you as much as your heart desires! Mr Oakley might take a bit of time to come out of his shell, so patience is key, but the wait will be worth it! Most importantly, we’d love to stay together as the bonded pair we are.

Medical Notes: Chip has epiphora which means an overflow of tears from the eyes. Normally, a thin film of tears is produced to lubricate the eyes and the excess fluid drains into the nasolacrimal ducts, or tear ducts, which are located in the corner of the eye next to the nose. The nasolacrimal ducts drain tears into the back of the nose and the throat. Epiphora is most commonly associated with insufficient drainage of the tear film from the eye. Most cats with epiphora will experience intermittent episodes throughout their life and it is likely that some degree of epiphora will persist despite all treatment efforts.

Chip has previously had Feline Acne. This is a disorder in which excess oily material (sebum), along with dead skin cells clogs hair follicles, causing irritation, raised red bumps, abscesses and the characteristic black greasy material (ie blackheads). The cause is unknown, though it is usually mild and manageable. Using stainless steel or ceramic bowls rather than plastic often assists. If the issue persists, a low allergen diet should be trialled. Allergic skin conditions can recur throughout an animal’s lifetime and continued treatment / intermittent medication may be required.

Oakley has a stumpy tail which may have been present from birth or caused by previous trauma. This condition is unlikely to cause other concerns in future.
