Lily was born on the streets and spent almost her entire first year of life outside, fending for herself and constantly searching for food. She had no regular feeder and no safe place to call home.

When Lily came into our care, the priority was getting her desexed and giving her the chance to learn that humans can be safe.

It has been a journey.

For Lily, the world of humans has been frightening and overwhelming. She has never known what it is like to live in a home, be handled, or simply relax around humans.

She's at the stage where she feels comfortable enough to eat around us and we'll sometimes catch her exploring her room, sitting on her cat tree or curling up on a cat bed. She'll even take a licky treat from us.

These might seem like tiny things, but for Lily, they are huge milestones.

Lily isn't looking for a family who expects her to become a cuddly lap cat.

She's looking for someone who can look at her and say:

"You don't have to change for me. I'll give you all the time you need." 🩷

Her ideal family will be incredibly patient and understanding. Someone who genuinely won't mind if it takes months or even years before Lily feels comfortable enough to accept pats.

If Lily eventually chooses to sit beside you, take a treat from your hand, or one day allow you to touch her. You'll know you've earned the trust of a little street cat who once believed humans were something to fear. 🩷
