About Henry
Introducing Henry!
Henry is a Mini Dachshund x French Bulldog born 4th July 2021.
Unfortunately Henry's family wasn't able to provide for him any more, so he has been surrendered for rehoming. His surrender profile states that he was mostly an outdoor dog, he is house trained, he travels well in the car, he's friendly with children & adult strangers and has no food aggression. His profile also states that he is friendly with other dogs, but he can be territorial with them in the home. He does also have mild separation anxiety, where he would bark while his owners were at work.
Since being at the facility Henry has been a beautiful boy to care for. He's incredibly affectionate & has loved every human he's met. He loves a treat, so his new home will need to have a steady supply at the ready! He knows how to 'sit' & 'shake' and loves cuddles with his human friends.
Upon first meeting, Henry tested OK with other dogs his size, but he did become quite nervous when meeting larger dogs. When we re-tested him with a few of the same dogs the next day, he started to growl and didn't want to interact with them at all. Given this reaction and knowing he can be territorial in his home, we believe Henry would be best suited to being the spoilt only "child" at home.
Unfortunately Henry has shown signs of prey drive with cats and pocket pets, so he will need a home with no small animals.
Henry has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility, however he has shown mild signs of separation anxiety. Given this, and the knowledge of his separation anxiety in his previous home, he will need an owner who is home more often than not, or be willing to take Henry with them while running errands.
Henry still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. He will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
If you think you could be that furever family for Henry, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
His adoption fee is $750 & includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. He's also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Henry is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
