About Shack
🐾 EVERY GREYHOUND HAS A STORY… MEET SHACK 🐾
Raced as Long Gully Shack - 5 yrs old
Handsome? Absolutely.
A bit of a ladies’ man? Apparently so. 😉
Loves a good ball, a teddy bear and plenty of affection? You bet!
Shack is settling beautifully into home life and showing us more of his personality every day. 💙
⛈️ Thunder? No problem.
🪜 Stairs? Easy.
🐑 Sheep, cows and horses? Not bothered.
🐕 Other dogs? Happy to say hello and isn’t reactive.
🚶 Walks? He’s doing really well and getting more confident around really loud traffic like trucks.
🏖️ The beach? VERY exciting — Shack can get a little razzed up with all the fun!
🐝 Bees? Apparently they’re for chasing… so his future family may need to keep an eye on that little hobby. 😂
Shack loves his toys and will happily play with balls and teddy bears — he’ll even bring his ball back!
Inside, he knows how to settle on his bed, and outside he’s quite content sitting on his bed watching the world go by. He waits nicely for his meals, goes to his bed when asked and understands that the kitchen is out of bounds when he’s told.
At night, Shack sleeps right through on his bed beside his foster carer. After his last wee for the night, he knows exactly what comes next — straight to bed. 💤
And then there’s his affectionate side… ❤️
Shack LOVES being loved. He has the funny habit of gently taking your hand in his mouth and dragging it towards the exact spot where he thinks you should be patting him. Apparently humans occasionally need instructions. 😂
He certainly enjoys his two meals a day, but interestingly he isn’t particularly food motivated — affection and interaction are much more his thing.
Shack may enjoy sharing his home with another suitable dog. Having a canine companion could also help him become comfortable being left for longer periods. 3-4hrs
What we DO know is that Shack is handsome, affectionate, playful and learning the ropes of home life beautifully.
And according to everyone who meets him…
Shack is one seriously handsome boy. 💙🐾
Could you be the next chapter in Shack’s story?

Adoption details
All BTG greyhounds are Desexed, C5 Vaccinated, Wormed & Heart Worm treated prior to adoption.
They have been fostered for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow maximum training and preparation for home life.
A post adoption trial period of 4 weeks is available to help families decide if the greyhound is the right one for them.
We also offer Foster to Adopt options for those who love the idea of teaching a greyhound in their home with the view to adopt it once it has "graduated" to Home Life status. This is a wonderful experience, to watch it blossom in your own home with your guidance and love. An ideal way to make sure this is the perfect dog for you.
