About Gennie
This sweet girl is ready for her second chance! Not much is known about Gennie's time before coming into care but what we have learnt is she is a sweet soul who wants to please.
Gennie loves to spread out on the floor instead of enjoying her many beds and loves to sit and have a snuggle. She is currently not allowed on the people furniture, but would love it if she could.
This house trained/toilet trained little champ also knows basic commands and manners. Gennie will sit on command and sit for dinner, goes in her bed when asked and will follow your cues. Okay sometimes we can still be a bit bouncy with excitement!
She loves to see what her people are up to and being in the same room as her humans so will be your little Velcro shadow. RIP to all her stuffies, they’re short lived. But to date shoes and other items are all safe!
Has really taken to sleeping in a crate in the bedroom. With an open door she comes and goes happily putting herself to bed when she decides it’s time. Also does well being encouraged to access the crate when she is getting overwhelmed in her new environment and will now often seek it out as her safe place.
Can be overwhelmed with large groups of unknown people initially so would suit a quieter household. As with the breed Gennie also likes to be with her people and would suit a house where people are home more often than not.
Can be timid and unsure and when she feels like this she can grumble and growl and would suit older children but has shown no aggression.
She is strong on a lead and will need ongoing training to learn to walk with manners. Will need continued training to support greeting others.
Genie will need someone committed to ongoing grooming costs, trust me she will look so much sweeter when she has a nice groom after coming into care (soon we promise! We just need her spay scar to heal). She happily sits for a brush.
Currently living with a cat and coexisting with only mild curiosity
Genie can get her howl on at times when she is outside and feeling like she is missing out, though this tends to be short lived and she quiets down and loves a nap in the sun. Gennie thrives when given the freedom to come inside and outside as she pleases.
