About Stevie Chicks, Lady Clucka and Sheryl Crow
🐔 Meet Stevie Chicks, Lady Clucka & Sheryl Crow 🐔
Looking for a ready-made girl band to join your family? Meet Stevie Chicks, Lady Clucka and Sheryl Crow - three gorgeous, very bonded hens looking for a loving home where they can stay together.
Before coming to Galahad’s, these three ladies were backyard chickens who found themselves needing a new home. They came to us together and have remained a close-knit little flock, so we are looking for a special home where they can continue their lives together.
These girls each have their own very different personality.
Stevie Chicks is the confident one of the group. She’s outgoing, brave and much more comfortable investigating what’s going on around her. If something interesting is happening, Stevie is usually the first one there to check it out!
Lady Clucka is our fluffy girl and is a little more cautious. She can be scared of new situations, but despite her nervous nature, she doesn’t mind being picked up and handled gently.
Sheryl Crow is the shyest of the trio. She is quite reclusive and fearful and prefers to keep her distance until she feels safe. She will need a patient, understanding home that is happy to let her settle in at her own pace.
Most importantly, these three girls are extremely bonded and must be adopted together. They rely on one another for companionship and security, particularly our more nervous girls.
They don't lay many eggs anymore, so they're looking for a home where they'll be loved for who they are rather than what they produce. Their retirement plans involve scratching around in the dirt, dust bathing, enjoying the sunshine, finding delicious snacks and generally living the good chicken life.
Their new home
We want these girls to have a safe and secure home for the rest of their lives. Their adopters will need to have an appropriate chicken setup that keeps them securely contained and protected from predators, with safe housing for both day and night.
Their new family will also need to be willing to follow appropriate avian influenza (bird flu) biosecurity precautions and adapt their setup or management if required to help protect their birds.
If you have a secure, chicken-friendly home, understand the importance of good biosecurity, and have room in your heart for three very special ladies, Stevie Chicks, Lady Clucka and Sheryl Crow would love to hear from you. ❤️
🎵 Three girls. One flock. One forever home.

Adoption details
Providing a Forever Home!
By adopting a farmed animal, you offer safety, care, and a second chance at life. Our adoption program matches animals with compassionate, forever homes where they can live with dignity and love. If you’re able to provide a home where an animal can enjoy the company of their own kind, appropriate shelter year-round, and dedicated care through all stages of life, we’d love to hear from you.
About our adoption program:
Since its establishment, Galahad’s Animal Sanctuary has rescued and provided care for farmed animals in need. Over time, we have recognised that in order to remain sustainable and maintain the highest standards of care for animals already in our protection, we are unable to offer lifelong sanctuary to every animal we rescue.
For this reason, our adoption program focuses on responsibly matching rescued animals with suitable, loving forever homes. Adoption allows us to help more animals in need while ensuring each individual receives the care, space, and attention they deserve.
We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome farm animals from various circumstances within the food system. We have also rescued camels, horses and donkeys. Both camels and brumbies are often overlooked Australian Icons, yet they hold an important place in our country's heritage. As animal ambassadors, they share a powerful message - that all animals deserve compassion, respect, and the chance to live with dignity.
Animals are generally adopted in pairs or family groups to make their transition to their new home as stress free as possible. We cannot separate best friends.
Animals are health checked, treated for parasites and in the best of health they can be prior to placement.
Due to unknown backgrounds, we may not be able to provide full histories of the animals.
The adoption process:
Ready to share your heart, home, and well-fenced paddock with a rescued farmed animal? All applications are carefully reviewed and followed by a phone discussion, reference checks, and a property inspection to ensure the best possible outcome for both you and the animal. Once a suitable match is identified, we will contact you to make arrangements. If we don’t currently have an animal that meets your needs, we’ll keep your application on file and update you when a suitable match becomes available.
Other things to note:
We are located in Gisborne, Victoria, Australia. Unless under exceptional circumstances, we cannot rehome animals interstate. Please find for your nearest animal sanctuary here.
We cannot offer short term or foster care.
You must be over 18 years old to apply.
Your details are held strictly confidential.
Please register your interest and we will be in contact.
