Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Harvey if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well

General:
• Previous experience with my breed is essential as many of my traits are typical of my breed, I will need an owner who is confident and capable of handling me.
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to be over 10yrs and feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion.

Dog Compatibility:
• A home without small dogs would be best for me.
• A submissive female canine companion would suit me well - although I adore people and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only.
• I can play enthusiastically - so a dog with a similar energy level would be ideal.

Cat / small animal:
• A home without cats/pocket pets would be best for me, as I'm likely to chase them.

Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy boy with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I am a smart boy and know how to sit and shake on command.

Training:

• Once I'm settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull hard if something grabs my attention or if I decide I'd like to head in a different direction.
• I am strong so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training with a physically capable owner.
