About Frank
Meet Frank – A Gentle, Affectionate Boy Looking for a Calm Home
Frank is a sweet, gentle and affectionate boy who is gradually gaining confidence in foster care. He can be cautious when meeting new people and new dogs, but he is improving every day and once he feels comfortable, his lovely personality really shines through. He enjoys attention, loves being with his people and is happiest when he can follow you around and be part of whatever is happening.
Frank is a real homebody who enjoys plenty of downtime too. He is happy to curl up on the couch or sleep beside your bed, but he also loves his walks, running around and playing fetch. His absolute favourite toys are squeaky toys, and he is always up for a good game of tug. He knows sit and stay and is very good on lead. He is also comfortable travelling in the car.
Frank is generally well behaved in the house and is toilet trained, although anxiety has previously caused him to urinate when visitors arrived. This has improved considerably in foster care and there have been no deliberate accidents. He does bark when someone comes to the door and can initially be wary of strangers, but with a calm introduction and his person nearby, he quickly becomes affectionate and playful. He has been absolutely fine with his foster carer’s granddaughter.
Frank does have anxiety and is not suited to a busy or boisterous household. He would benefit from calm, patient people who can give him time to build confidence and who understand that he may need gentle introductions to new people and situations. He is also not comfortable being left alone for long periods, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. His foster carer has found that he can cope with around five hours alone when necessary, but this is not something he particularly enjoys.
Frank is improving with other dogs and has been friendly and curious rather than aggressive. His history with cats is unknown, so any introductions would need to be carefully managed.
Frank is looking for a quieter home with people who will appreciate his gentle nature, give him time to settle and build trust, and enjoy having a sweet little shadow by their side.
