About Ash
Meet Ash, a stunning Australian Cattle Dog who is truly one out of the box.
An ACD with good recall? Usually only when they feel like it! But Ash is different – call him, and he’ll stop whatever he’s doing and come straight back to you.
Good with other dogs? ACDs can sometimes be a little stand-offish, or even a tad hostile. Not Ash. He hasn’t yet met a dog he doesn’t like or immediately want to be friends with (although the feeling isn’t always reciprocated!).
And livestock? Well, he’s very interested and would probably give them a good run for their money – but see recall above!
Ash has also been exposed to cats and was perfectly fine with them. The cats, however, weren’t quite as impressed with him.
Once he gets to know and trust you, Ash is very cuddly. He can be a little timid when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, but once he decides everything is okay, out comes the big smile.
He loves being involved in whatever is happening and is particularly enthusiastic about his toys and anything chewy – the puppy is definitely still in residence! Shoes, on the other hand, have occasionally been discovered in some rather unexpected locations, although thankfully still completely unharmed.
Ash has settled beautifully into all the comforts of his foster home, particularly the old sofa, where he’s very happy to curl up for a quick snooze between adventures. He’s toilet trained and sleeps soundly on his bed throughout the night. He does still pull a little on a lead, but he’s working on his enthusiasm in this area and is improving all the time.
Ash is a loyal, loving and wonderfully affectionate young dog who would happily live with another canine companion, but is also perfectly capable of being the only dog in the home. What he really needs is space, plenty of exercise and activities to keep his very busy brain occupied, along with ongoing training to help him reach his full potential. And, of course, plenty of cuddles.
If you’ve always dreamed of sharing your life with an Australian Cattle Dog, handsome Ash could be the one you’ve been waiting for. He has a fantastic foundation, a gorgeous personality and an enormous amount of love to give his new family. Send in an application today!
Ash is located in VIC.
