Meet Daisy, a Big-Hearted Girl Who Loves to Learn

At around two years old and weighing approximately 37 kg, Daisy is a mid-to-large girl with an affectionate nature, a playful streak and plenty of love to share. She can be wonderfully clingy with her favourite people and enjoys being involved in family life.

Daisy had a difficult beginning when she contracted parvovirus as a young puppy, but this tough girl pulled through and is now healthy and thriving. She is not a fussy eater, although lamb will always earn extra points!

With a medium energy level, Daisy enjoys her walks and is also happy burning off energy through a daily game of ball in the backyard. She loves to chew, so a good supply of tough, durable toys will help keep her busy and entertained.

Daisy currently lives successfully with a male and female dog. She is generally the follower of the group rather than the one in charge. This clever girl is both toilet trained and crate trained. She already knows sit, down, stay and come, and can even find familiar family members by name when asked. Daisy enjoys learning and would benefit from a family that will continue her training using calm, positive methods.

Daisy is attentive to what is happening around her home and will notice strangers approaching or passing the property. Her experience with cats and children is unknown, so thoughtful introductions and appropriate supervision would be important.

Daisy is living in foster care with a loving family, which helps us understand her personality, routines and needs. SAFE does not operate a shelter, but meeting Daisy is easy. Submit an adoption application and, if she may suit your household, we can arrange a meet and greet.

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to Perth.

4 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING:

1. Time Commitment: Owning a dog is a big responsibility and requires a significant commitment of time and energy. Be sure to consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to caring for a dog and make sure you are prepared to make that commitment.

2. Cost: Owning a dog can be expensive. Make sure to consider the cost of food, medical care, toys, and other supplies. You may also want to think about enrolling your dog in obedience classes or hiring a professional dog walker.

3. Space: Depending on the breed, some dogs require a lot of space. Make sure you have enough room in your home and yard to accommodate a dog before making the decision to adopt.

4. Lifestyle: Think about your current lifestyle and how a dog may fit into it. Consider if you have any restrictions such as travel, work hours, or allergies. Also, think about how owning a dog may affect your social life.

NOTES:
Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age.

*Puppies and dogs may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee.
