About Tash
FOSTER OR ADOPTION URGENTLY NEEDED
Tash | 1 yr 4m | Female | Akita
Located Melb
This lovely young Akita is currently in the shelter and is really deserving of the chance to get out of the pound environment.
She is very friendly and has already formed some favourite relationships with the shelter attendants. She enjoys their company and has shown herself to be an easygoing girl who is comfortable interacting with people.
During her assessment, she was also very sensible around other dogs. When a dog was being walked along the fence, she was interested and distracted by what was happening, but she was easily called away and showed no reaction or concern towards the other dog.
For an Akita, she has presented as a particularly easy girl compared with what can be typical of the breed. Of course, Akitas can become more confident and assertive once they settle into a home, so her future family will need to understand the breed and be prepared for her personality to develop as she becomes comfortable.
For this reason, we would ideally like to see her go to an only dog home if her new family has never owned an Akita before. A home with another compatible dog could potentially be considered for someone with previous Akita or similar breed experience, subject to careful introductions and ongoing management.
She is friendly, responsive to her people and has shown us that she has plenty of potential to be a wonderful companion.
We would love to see this girl out of the pound and into a home where she can finally relax and be herself. ❤️
