About Pie
Meet Pie – the communal cat who thinks every bed is his
Pie got his name because he is, quite simply, a Sweetie Pie. 💛
Pie started life as a kitten in a community-fed cat colony, and has acclimated to indoor life easily through his discovery of pet beds (including cardboard ones) and toys. Pie is convinced that beds are a communal resource. He likes to try everyone's bed and will happily settle down for a full sleep wherever he finds one. If another cat is already occupying it? No problem. Pie will simply sit on them and share.
He likes to think of himself as a communal cat, rather than a community cat.
Pie is a little purr machine, greeting his foster carer every morning without a meow. He has a special bond with the resident male cat, and the purring begins the moment he sees him, showing where his loyalty lies!
Pie is still learning that sudden movements and reaching out for a pat aren't scary. If something startles him, his first instinct is to make a quick dash to his own bed, or another cat's bed, where he feels safe. Once there, he will often avoid eye contact and sit very still, apparently convinced that if he can't see you, you can't see him either!
But when Pie feels safe, his sweet and playful personality really shines. He loves having other cats around and is wonderfully gentle and respectful with his foster carer's large resident male cat.
What kind of home is Pie looking for?
Pie would love to have another friendly cat to play with. He is very open-minded about his feline friends and could enjoy the company of cats or kittens.
He is used to the sounds and activity of a busy household, including children's noise, but he can be a little skittish when things happen suddenly. For that reason, he would probably be happiest with primary-school-aged children or older, where there is less fast movement, and he has plenty of opportunity to retreat to a safe bed when he needs a moment.
Give Pie a patient home, a feline friend, some comfortable beds and a supply of balls to chase, and you'll have a very happy little communal cat.
Could you be the person Pie chooses to purr hello to every morning?ll
