About Bruno
🐾 URGENT ASSISTED REHOMING — BRUNO 💔
Meet Bruno — a gorgeous 4-year-old Rottweiler boy who, through absolutely no fault of his own, suddenly needs a new family.
Bruno’s owner, Sam, tragically passed away unexpectedly in a car accident, leaving this much-loved boy without the person he had spent almost his entire life with. 💔
Bruno is a big boy weighing over 50kg, but underneath that impressive size is a sweet, happy and friendly dog who has been very loved and well cared for.
He is:
🖤 4 years old
🖤 Male & desexed
🖤 Microchipped
🖤 House trained & crate trained
🖤 Knows basic obedience — sit, down, come, wait and takes treats gently
🖤 Calm and happy to chill out
🖤 Friendly with other dogs and has always had a canine companion
🖤 Loves balls, rope toys and playing
🖤 Enjoys swimming
🖤 No history of biting a person
🖤 No known behavioural issues or aggression towards people
Bruno has primarily lived on acreage with plenty of space to explore, so he hasn’t had a huge amount of experience with structured walks or the outside world. When he does go out, he can be very excited and pull on lead until he settles.
He’s also a big, physical boy who can become boisterous when excited. He has knocked over children in the past without hurting them, so a home without young children is recommended. Older, confident children may be suitable with appropriate supervision.
Bruno has also chased/killed birds and snakes and there has been an incident involving a piglet on the property. Because of this, he is not considered suitable for a home with cats or small animals.
He can live with another suitable dog, although introductions and ongoing supervision will be important. He has previously lived successfully with other dogs, including a terrier and a cattle dog.
Bruno will need an experienced, confident owner — preferably someone familiar with Rottweilers or large breeds — who understands that he is a huge, strong dog and will need some consistency and training to help him become the best version of himself.
Despite everything that has happened, Bruno is still described as a really sweet, happy boy. He loves being around his people, is happy to relax in his kennel and has simply been a much-loved part of his family’s life. ❤️
This isn’t a surrender because Bruno is unwanted.
His world has changed because he lost his person.
We urgently need to help Bruno find someone who can give him the stability, patience and love he deserves for the rest of his life. 🖤
