About Koa
Meet Koa!
This lovely boy will thrive with a family who understands that building confidence takes time. New experiences may be overwhelming, so he will need slow, patient confidence building and plenty of encouragement.
A home with lots of routine, predictability and consistency will help him feel secure. The new family should also be prepared to continue their training with positive reinforcement, helping him build skills and confidence at his own pace.
He will benefit from plenty of mental stimulation and environmental enrichment to keep his clever mind engaged and help him develop independence.
Because of these needs, he would be best suited to a teenage or adult home where everyone can respect his boundaries and allow him settle in at his own pace.
With the right introduction and careful matching, he may also be suitable to live with another dog, provided his other canine companion is suitably matched to his personality and needs.
If Koa sounds like a dog you may be interested in, please come down today to meet him!
Adoption details
Our adoption process is designed to match you with the right pet, the first time. Our team are experts at rehoming animals who have specific needs that match your lifestyle, to ensure every adoption placement will last a lifetime.
At our Peninsula site, adoption hours are 12pm – 4pm. You are welcome to attend our reception office without an appointment to begin our adoption process during adoption hours.
The adoption areas are not free to walk through, and you will need to chat with our staff to confirm that a potential adoption is a good match.
Once the adoption has been discussed, a staff member will facilitate a walk-through of the adoption areas or have an animal brought to you in a greeting area.
