About Loki
Hello there! I'm Loki, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR LOKI
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/XP2FSQbGSoqq5Gfj9
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Loki if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
General:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction, I am housetrained!
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to be over the age of 8yrs and feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• I'd love a friendly female dog playmate - or, if I'm your only dog, regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs.
• A home without small dogs would be best for me.
• A submissive canine companion would suit me well - although I adore people and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only.
Cat / small animal:
• I have a high prey drive, so I'm not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly toy motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I know a lot of basic commands like sit, shake, lay down, middle, wait, take it and stay, and I'm always eager to learn more.
• I am housetrained and am used to being allowed indoors as part of the family.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I'm clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who'll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• I am a strong boy on lead, so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training, I must have a physically capable owner.
• I can be a bouncy/ mouthy when im excited and in a playful mood, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I can feel lonely when left alone in the backyard for long periods. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
