If you've ever wondered what would happen if sunshine, enthusiasm and a slight toy-stealing habit were combined into one very handsome Golden Retriever, we'd like to introduce you to Frank.

At almost three years old, Frank has arrived in care through absolutely no fault of his own. In fact, his previous family made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him because they wanted him to have the best possible opportunity to find the perfect home. He was, and still is, very loved, and it's easy to see why. Frank is the kind of dog who wins people over within minutes. He's sweet, happy, affectionate and just the right amount of goofy.

Life, according to Frank, is best enjoyed with a toy in your mouth. Any toy. Every toy. Someone else's toy. His foster human siblings have discovered that any stuffed toy left unattended is likely to be quietly relocated to Frank's bed for "safekeeping." We have yet to hear his side of the story, but judging by the expression on his face, he believes these toys were clearly abandoned and required immediate rescue.

When he's not expanding his toy collection, Frank can usually be found enjoying treats, puzzle toys, Kongs, Nylabones and anything else that dispenses snacks. He approaches enrichment toys with the dedication of a scientist and the enthusiasm of someone who's just learned food can magically appear from inside rubber.

Frank loves his walks and is an absolute gentleman when it's time to get ready. Mention a walk and he'll happily sit and wait while you put on his harness, looking every bit the angel that he is. Out and about, he's social with other dogs without being overbearing. He's generally happy to say a quick hello and then continue on his way.

However, there is one notable exception. Another Golden Retriever.

The moment Frank spots a fellow Goldie, all dignity leaves the building. Suddenly, he's convinced he's just run into his long-lost best friend at a high school reunion. Tail wagging, excitement levels soaring, brain temporarily offline. It's impossible not to laugh.

He's currently in foster care with cats and has been doing well. Frank can be a little enthusiastic when making new feline acquaintances because he genuinely believes everyone should be friends immediately. With a confident cat and sensible introductions, he's shown he can happily coexist.

Around the home, Frank is toilet trained and has proven to be the easygoing, lovable companion everyone hopes a Golden Retriever will be. He'll also need to head home with some medication to finish clearing up an ear infection, but he's already doing well and just needs his new family to help him complete his recovery.

Frank is looking for a family who appreciates a dog with a big heart, a bigger personality and occasionally questionable views on toy ownership. If you're after a loyal companion who will make you laugh daily, greet each day as if it's the best day ever and fill your home with love, toys and just a little bit of Golden Retriever chaos, Frank might be your perfect match.
