Jaffle

Jaffle has a huge personality packed into a tiny 7kg body. He’s a smart, playful, curious little guy who throws himself into everything he does and certainly doesn’t seem to realise how small he is.

He has really flourished alongside the bigger dogs in his foster home, particularly his Ridgeback foster brother, who he looks up to and has learnt a great deal from. A home with a confident medium to large dog would suit Jaffel well and give him a great role model as he continues to grow.

He’s an enthusiastic, fun loving little dog who’s always up for a game of fetch or tug, and he’s recently discovered that he’s quite the swimmer too.

For all his energy and cheeky character, Jaffle has a very affectionate side. When the day winds down, he’s more than happy to curl up with his humans for a chest rub and a cuddle.

My ideal home: Jaffle is ready to leave city life behind and settle somewhere a little quieter, where he can enjoy the world without constantly being surrounded by people.

His unique looks tend to attract plenty of attention, but Jaffel isn’t comfortable being approached by strangers. He’s looking for an adopter who understands this, is happy to advocate for his space and won’t put him in situations where he’s expected to interact with people he doesn’t know.

A quieter home would suit him best, with someone who can manage introductions to visitors and allow Jaffle to get to know new people at his own pace.

My energy level: Jaffle certainly has energy! Being a young dog, he will need at least one long walk each day, alongside structured play and training to keep both his body and brain busy.
Jaffel is crate trained and benefits from structured nap times during the day. He’s still learning how to find his off switch outside of the crate, particularly when there’s fun to be had. If the toy box is within reach, Jaffle firmly believes there are far better things to do than sleep!

My suitability to children: Jaffle is not suitable to children or children visiting the home.

My suitability to other cats or dogs: Jaffle can be a little defensive when meeting a new dog for the first time and may need some time and space to work them out. Once he decides you’re a friend though, you’re a friend for life!

He has been making great progress learning to share his toys and space with the other dogs in his foster home and continues to improve with guidance.

Jaffle would be best suited to living with a confident medium to large breed dog who can be a positive role model for him.

Jaffle’s suitability with cats is currently unknown.
