Chase is a gorgeous young boy with an enormous personality and an even bigger head! His ears seem to operate independently, and we're fairly certain they change position every seven seconds.
More importantly, Chase is an affectionate, clever and extremely people-loving dog who genuinely wants to be part of the family.
Chase loves his humans and enjoys simply knowing they're nearby. He's house trained, well mannered inside and doesn't chew furniture, shoes or everything else he can get his paws on.
One of his loveliest qualities is how well he reads the room. Around children, Chase seems to understand that he needs to tone things down, and a much gentler side of him appears.
What Chase Loves
Food. 😂
Kongs, food puzzles and enrichment activities are right up his alley. If there's food trapped inside something, Chase will happily investigate until he solves the problem.
He's an intelligent young dog who benefits from having something to occupy both his brain and his body.
Other Dogs
Chase has successfully lived with other dogs and could potentially live with a suitable canine companion.
We think he could make a great younger brother to an older, experienced and well-balanced dog who can provide appropriate boundaries when Chase gets a little overenthusiastic.
He generally doesn't initiate silly behaviour with other dogs, but he can respond if another dog starts barking, lunging or carrying on.
Chase prefers dogs around his own size or larger, and any resident dog would need to be introduced appropriately.
Training & Exercise
Before coming into care, Chase had never been walked, so he missed some of the basic training and social experiences most puppies receive.
He's come a long way with his lead walking and is a quick learner. His new family will need to continue providing consistent boundaries, training and appropriate socialisation.
Chase also has an impressive high jump. Unfortunately, this particular talent tends to appear when his humans leave home!
For this reason, secure 6-foot fencing is essential.
Chase's Ideal Home
Chase would thrive with people who understand that he's still a young dog learning about the world.
His ideal home will offer him consistency, enrichment, exercise and plenty of involvement in family life. He would particularly suit a home where someone is around much of the time or where he has a compatible canine companion.
Underneath the enormous head, independently operated ears and occasional pork-chop tendencies is a beautiful young dog who wants to get things right.
Chase doesn't ask for much. He just wants to see his people, know they're there and feel safe. ❤️

Adoption details
We want every adoption to be the **right match for both the dog and their new family**. Our adoption process helps us understand your home, lifestyle and expectations, while giving you the opportunity to learn more about the dog you are interested in.
**Our adoption process includes:**
1. **Application Form**
Complete an adoption application so we can learn more about you, your household, lifestyle and the type of home you can offer.
2. **Phone Interview**
Suitable applicants will be contacted for a phone conversation to discuss the dog, their individual needs and your application in more detail.
3. **Meet & Greet**
A meet and greet is conducted **in person**. All household members and resident pets are required to attend so we can assess compatibility and ensure everyone is comfortable.
4. **Adoption Approval & Contract**
If the meet and greet is successful and both parties are happy to proceed, the adoption will be approved and a **Diamond in the Ruff Rescue Adoption Agreement** must be completed and signed.
Our priority is not simply finding our dogs a home — it is finding them the **right forever home**.
