About Tank & Bato
Introducing Tank & Bato!
Tank is a Chihuahua x born approx 7th September 2022.
Bato is (we believe) a wire haired Jack Russell x born approx 7th March 2020.
Sadly Bato & Tank's owner is quite ill & going into palliative care. His granddaughter had removed them from his care before going in, as he was obviously not able to take care of them anymore, which was quite evident with how matted Bato's fur was & they were both covered in fleas.
Since being at the facility both boys have been incredibly lovable kids, who have quickly won the hearts of all staff & volunteers. They're both definitely lap dogs and would love to be in a home where they can be spoiled & loved for the rest of their days. We've noticed that Bato can be a little scared with loud/high pitched noises, so we are recommending a home with no children under 10 years, as they might be too overwhelming for him.
It's evident that they are very bonded and must be rehomed together.
Tank & Bato both tested well with other dogs. While we only have smaller, male dogs to test with, they were very excited to meet them all & were very happy during their meets. We believe they could be suitable to live with another dog or be the spoilt only "children" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Both boys appeared unfazed by our facility cat. We believe they could be suitable to live with cats if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Unfortunately both boys have shown signs of prey drive with pocket pets, so they will need a home with no small animals like chickens & rabbits.
These boys have shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety (as long as they're kept together) since being with us.
Bato & Tank still have so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where they are included as members of the family. They will thrive in an environment that guides them with positive direction and lots of love and attention.

Their adoption fee is $1000 for the pair & includes their desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. They have also been regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Tank & Bato are currently located in East Maitland.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
