🎩🐾 MEET HORACE— OUR LITTLE VICTORIAN GENTLEMAN 🐾🎩
Horace a Chihuahua mix with an old soul, a serious little face and a heart that just needs a little time to open. ❤
The pound has estimated that he is around 6 years of age, however we believe he maybe a tad over this.
At first, Horace can be nervous and a little reserved. The outside world can still feel quite scary, so he needs a quiet, calm home away from the hustle and bustle and someone who understands that trust takes time.
But once Horace decides you're his person… ❤️ prepare for cuddles!
He loves nothing more than curling up beside you, making him the perfect companion for someone who works from home, is retired or simply enjoys having a little shadow by their side.
🐾 Horace's perfect home:
🏡 A quiet residential area, and a home with a secure backyard/courtyard for him to potter in.
❤️ Someone not away from home for long periods
🐶 A small, quiet canine companion would be lovely
🐱 No cats, please
👶 No young children — loud voices make him nervous
🚶♂️ Low energy — one walk a day is plenty
🛋️ Inside living is essential — he must have access inside at all times, be welcome on the couch and sleep in his owner's bedroom
🎩 The little things that make Horace special
Horace loves being talked to. His carer can tell him what she's doing and he listens intently — he's surprisingly quick at learning words too! Say “lounge room” or “upstairs” and he knows exactly what you mean. 🥰
He enjoys sitting in the doorway watching the world go by from the safety of his home. He's rarely a barker, and a gentle “shhh” is usually all it takes.
He loves treat puzzles, snuffle mats and anything that lets him put his clever little nose to work. 🐽
And when it comes to affection, scratches between his shoulder blades, down his back and between his ears are definitely on Horace's favourites list. Stop too soon and he'll give you the sweetest little nudge to say, *“Excuse me… I wasn't finished!”* 🥹❤️
At bedtime, Horace sleeps peacefully in his carer's bedroom — although this little gentleman waits until the light is turned off before settling himself into his bed. 🎩🌙
He may not be the dog who rushes up to greet everyone, but give Horace patience, peace, kindness and time, and you'll discover a wonderfully gentle, affectionate companion who simply wants to feel safe.
Horace isn't looking for a busy life. He's looking for his person. ❤️
Someone who will let him take life at his own pace, give him a safe place to call home and show him that the world isn't quite as frightening as he once thought.
Could you be Horace's forever person? 🐾❤️
If you think you have the pawfect home, please tell us a little about the home you could offer, including:
• What your home life looks like — family members in your home, lifestyle and a typical day in your home
• Any current dogs/or other pets, ages and what their personalities are like
• How much time Horace would spend alone during a typical day
• What access he would have in the home and where he would sleep at night
• Your plans for vet care and what arrangements you have in place for your pets when you travel or are away
The more we know about you and the home you can offer, the better we can ensure the perfect match for Horace🐾
