About Sadie
Sadie has done well in foster care. She grows in confidence every day. She is naturally curious and will have an explore of new areas even when there a things that might be a bit scary at first. She is still a little wary of loud trucks, cyclists zooming past or noisy playgrounds.
She walks well on lead and enjoys a couple of shorter walks most days. Maybe a longer adventure on the weekend. A car ride perhaps ?
On her walks Sadie loves to meet and get attention from any human she sees. She gets lots of compliments from admirers with her bright grin, rich brindle coat and soft floppy ears. Sadie is getting more confident meeting other dogs too. She thinks greyhounds are fantastic and is comfortable to meet medium and large non-greys if they are calm and polite. She would rather avoid the little yappy ones.
Sadie is in foster care with another female grey. They get along quite well. If she is an only dog in her forever home she may take some adjusting to being home alone. Her humans will never lack for company as she will be your constant companion. She also loves visitors and will insist of getting their attention for pats and cuddles. She likes to be the centre of attention.
Sadie still has puppy energy so would appreciate time to play and be active. She is also a bit of a goof and delightfully uncoordinated. She has been known to fall off the couch and her parkour skills could improve.
Sadie is very trainable with treats and motivated by play. She has mastered stairs, jumps in and out of the car. She will play with toys and loves to help with the recycling by tearing apart a cardboard box and is an excellent document shredder.
Our Sadie will bring joy to any home.

We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
