About Stumpy
Hello there! I’m Stumpy, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR STUMPY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• I’m used to a quiet, mature household and would love a similar environment.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can continue to be a well behaved man.
• A calm, gentle dog companion may suit me, as boisterous dogs can be overwhelming. I’ll benefit from gradual, positive socialisation.
• I prefer dogs around my own size and am not comfortable with much larger dogs.
• Even though I get along with other dogs I don’t have to go to a home with another dog. I just love people and would like someone around more often than not.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be able to live with a cat.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit, and I’m always eager to learn more.
• I LOVE toys — especially my ball! Fetch is one of my favourite games.
• House trained
Training:
• I can be nervous around other dogs and may react if they’re too full-on or reactive towards me. Controlled, positive socialisation experiences will help me build confidence and learn that other dogs aren’t so scary.
• I can be scared of thunder and fireworks, and may bark or whine during storms. I’ll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Stumpy if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
