Jolene is one of the beautiful pups from our Coat of Many Colours Litter — nine puppies whose names all have a connection to the wonderful Dolly Parton.
The litter name itself is a play on Dolly’s much-loved song “Coat of Many Colors”, and Jolene was surely one of the easiest puppies to name. “Jolene” is one of Dolly Parton’s most famous and enduring songs.
Our little Jolene may share her name with that famously beautiful woman, but there is nothing formidable about this girl. She is a sweet, friendly and gentle little soul with a lovely soft nature.
Her mum, Stella, is a Wolfhound mix, while dad is believed to have been a Dogue de Bordeaux/Mastiff type, so Jolene is likely to grow into a medium to large dog.
At her first vet visit, Jolene was an exceptionally cooperative little girl, although, as you can see in the gallery, she was not keen on being weighed! She was calm and gentle throughout her examination and didn’t even flinch when she received her vaccination — taking the whole experience completely in her stride.
That lovely nature is already shining through. Jolene enjoys people and has the affectionate, trusting nature we have come to know and love in this litter.
Like all young puppies, Jolene will need a family prepared to continue her training, socialisation and introduction to the wider world. With good guidance, plenty of companionship and inclusion in family life, she has all the makings of a wonderful lifelong companion.
We welcome interstate applications and are very happy to help with the practicalities of getting your new puppy home. We can advise on suitable transport options, obtain quotes on your behalf and assist with making the necessary travel arrangements. Interstate adoptions are a regular part of what we do, so distance need not be a barrier to finding the right home.
Jolene is offer for adoption under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program, with desexing to take place when age appropriate in accordance with her adoption contract. The cost of desexing is included in the adoption fee, subject to terms and conditions.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
