MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership fee), flea and worm treatment and sterilisation.

ADOPTION NOTES
Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your own dog if applicable), a home check (or photos/video of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.

All adoption fees must be deposited into the Second Tale Animal Rescue (STAR) bank account in full before adoption trial starts, and please note, we cannot accept cash. The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.

After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of the microchip into the new owner's name, and email copies of the dog's vet records.

Meet Prancer! One of a kind and proud of it!

According to his carer, Prancer really is unlike any other dog. He's a loving, happy boy who makes everyone smile. He's got great manners for his age, is housetrained, crate trained, and doesn't jump up.

Handsome Prancer is a total goofball. His has a rather unusual gait and occasionally trips over his own paws, but he's back on his feet and bounding off again with no concerns. Prancer has been vet checked and there's nothing wrong with his legs: he's just a rather uniquely built dog! So what breed is he? Good question! If we had to guess, we'd go for German Shorthaired Pointer, Red Heeler and a healthy dash of hound (Basset Hound, perhaps?) but please don't quote us on that! 🤣

Between his turned-out front paws and a bark that sounds more like a bray (think donkey meets howler monkey), Prancer is full of quirks. None of it slows him down: he loves to gallop, play hard and run fast with other dogs. Although he's bouncy and playful, Prancer does read other dogs' cues well, backing off immediately if he's told to settle down.

Personal space isn't really in Prancer's vocabulary, so he would do best in a home without small children or elderly family members — he's convinced everyone loves him and needs kisses, sometimes delivered at full speed.

He's great with other animals too, though he does enjoy stirring up the chooks for fun (he's still a pup, after all!).

Prancer definitely isn't for everyone — and honestly, holding a cup of tea around him is its own adventure — but he's one of the most endearing, loving, smile-inducing dogs you'll ever meet. It's simply impossible to be sad around this goofball.
