Murphy is a stunningly handsome gentleman with a beautiful personality just waiting to shine. He can be shy and timid when meeting new people or finding himself in unfamiliar surroundings, so he’ll need a little time and patience to settle into his forever home.
Once Murphy feels safe and knows he can trust you, the real Murphy appears – a gorgeous boy who loves cuddles, affection and plenty of playtime. Give him the chance to settle at his own pace and you’ll be rewarded with a loving companion who will be very happy to share his days with you.
Murphy does have a few non-negotiables when it comes to choosing his forever home. He’s looking for a quiet, peaceful household with no children and no other felines. He is, however, happy to share his home with a calm, smallish canine companion.
Murphy isn’t looking for a busy household or a huge social circle. He’s looking for someone who understands that shy cats sometimes need a little extra time before handing over their heart.
If your home ticks Murphy’s boxes and you’re happy to give this handsome fellow the time he needs to settle in, Murphy would very much like to have a chat with you!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
