About Chess
Meet Chess!
This spunky 2 year old Staffy mix is sure to wiggle his way straight into your home and heart. Chess arrived at the Lost Dogs' Home as a stray, and after receiving plenty of love and care from our shelter team, he's now ready to find a forever family of his own.
Chess is an incredibly sweet boy with an infectious zest for life. He's a big fan of toys, treats and, most of all, spending time with his people. After a fun-filled day chasing balls and playing tug of war, we can imagine Chess happily curling up beside you for a well-earned cuddle on the couch.
Chess is a high energy boy who can be a little jumpy, so he'll need a home where everyone is over 16. He's still learning to feel comfortable with handling and can become overwhelmed by unfamiliar people and environments. His new family will need to be patient and committed to using positive reinforcement, while giving Chess the time and space he needs to build confidence and experience new people and places at his own pace.
Chess may be suitable to live with a well-matched doggy friend, depending on a successful meet and greet at the shelter.
If you think you could give darling Chess the forever home he truly deserves, come and meet him at the North Melbourne shelter any time during our opening hours, no appointment needed!
*Please note: if you already have another dog or any household members under 18, they will need to be present for a meet and greet at the shelter*
