Hello, I’m Hope, and although I’m only four months old, I have already been through more than most little kittens could ever imagine.

Nature
When I came into care, my eyes were in a terrible condition. An ophthalmologist discovered that I had most likely suffered from untreated ulcers in both eyes. One eye was completely blind, while the other could only see light and dark. Sadly, there was no way to restore my sight, and the kindest option for me was to have both eyes removed to prevent further complications and, most importantly, to stop me from experiencing pain.

So now, at just four months old, I am learning to navigate a world without sight.
Because of everything I have experienced in my short life, I’m not the confident, bouncy little kitten you might expect. Instead, I’m what my foster family calls an old soul in a young body. ❤️

I don’t need lots of excitement or adventures to make me happy. What I love most is having someone beside me. If you lie down next to me, softly whisper my name and gently stroke me, I will reward you with the most gorgeous purr.

I’m learning that I am safe now. I’m learning that gentle hands mean love, that a familiar voice means someone is nearby, and that I don’t have to be afraid.
I may not be the kitten who races around the house, but I have something very special to give — a quiet, deep and incredibly precious love.

As I’m still learning to navigate my sightless world, I need someone who understands that I need time to learn the “map of my world.”

I need to learn where the couch is, where my bed is, how many steps to the litter tray, where my water bowl lives, and all the different sounds and smells of my home. Most importantly, I need to learn the voices of the humans who are now my pawrents.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Before my operation, when I could still see shadows and move around more freely, I was confident enough to explore the whole house. I happily made friends with the resident cats and was also comfortable around the foster kittens.
Since my operation, I have been given my own quiet room away from the rest of the household while I heal and, more importantly, learn how to navigate my new world without sight.

And I’m doing wonderfully.

I have already worked out where my food and litter tray are and have been confidently finding both since my very first day. I can even get down from my bed using soft stairs and have learned how to make my way back up again.

As I become more confident and familiar with my surroundings, I can hopefully begin to have more interaction with the other cats again. I have already shown that I enjoy feline company, so a calm, gentle cat companion could be something I would appreciate once I am ready.

My PURR-fect home would be with loving person who can give me consistency, patience and protection while I learn my surroundings and build my confidence. I don’t need a busy or adventurous home — I need someone who will help make my world feel predictable, safe and gentle. ❤️

Medical Notes: Hope had both eyes removed in August 2026 due to intense corneal oedema, most likely caused by severe ulceration. She has recovered well from this surgery and does not require any further treatment. Due to this, she is totally blind and will need to be a strictly indoor only cat, however may have access to a fully enclosed cat run.

Hope was exposed to Ringworm, which is a common fungal infection. She did not show symptoms and was given the all clear by the vet.
