🐾 MEET ZIPPER — Our Shy Little Tan Boy 🤎🐾

Zipper is the most reserved and shut-down pup of the litter, and he is going to need something very special: time, patience, understanding and an experienced dog owner.

This handsome tan boy is still very unsure of people and new situations. His natural response when frightened is to retreat rather than rush forward, so his future family needs to understand canine body language and be prepared to let him build trust at his own pace.

Zipper does, however, have an important source of confidence — other dogs. 🐶❤️

For this reason, Zipper will only be considered for a carefully selected home with a friendly, desexed female dog. His canine companion can help him feel safe while his humans patiently teach him that people can be trusted too.

This isn't a "take him home and he'll be fine" kind of adoption. Zipper needs someone who is genuinely interested in helping a shy dog develop into a confident, well-rounded companion.

✅ Puppy/obedience classes and ongoing socialisation essential
✅ Older children/teenagers only; no young children
✅ Patient home prepared for a slow trust-building process
✅ Cats unknown and would require careful, slow introductions
❌ Not suitable for an inexperienced first-time dog owner

❌ Not suitable to be adopted with a sibling

🐶 A LITTLE ABOUT HIS BACKGROUND

Zipper and his siblings have lived an extremely sheltered life. They spent their early months living indoors together with their mum and had very limited exposure to the outside world, unfamiliar people, new environments and everyday experiences.

As a result, Zipper is still learning the basics of being a confident young dog.

The good news is that he's young, and young dogs can learn enormously when given the right environment, consistency and support. His future isn't defined by his start in life — but his adopter needs to be prepared to put the work in.

The pups appear to be toilet trained and clean in their kennels overnight. They're still learning about toys, new surroundings and the many things that normal family life brings.

All five are littermates and have always lived together. They will not be adopted with their siblings, as developing independence is an important part of their future.

💉 $450 includes: desexing, vaccination, microchipping and registration.

Zipper will be desexed before going to his new home.

There are no walk-ins. Please call the pound first to book a meet-and-greet.

If you're travelling to meet Zipper, please note that payment to hold him is not taken over the phone. A meet-and-greet must take place at the pound first. If the meeting goes well, we can then proceed with the adoption process.

Existing dogs must be desexed and up to date with vaccinations and will need to attend the required meet-and-greet at the pound. 🐕❤️

Zipper won't be the easiest pup in the litter — but for the right person, helping him discover his confidence could be incredibly rewarding. 🌱
