About Cheese
Mac (1 year and 3 month old male tabby)
I’m Mac and I’ve already decided I love you - I just haven’t met you yet!
I’m a 7-8 month-old tabby boy, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and litter trained (very neat and tidy about it). I’m part of a bonded pair with my best mate Cheese - we must be adopted together.
I might be a little reserved for the first 5 minutes, but then I’ll steal your heart.
I live for chin scritches and belly rubs, I’m rarely a head-pat guy - there’s something about a hand passing over my head out of my vision that’ll have me pulling my head back to keep eyes on your hand. I’ll greet you with a flirt roll, and occasionally a sassy meow while ensuring I’m in front of you for attention and affection if you’re not quick enough with either. I’m learning to love being baby-carried - though I’ll turn liquid and wriggle out of a hold if I’d rather be playing. I’ll sleep curled against your legs and greet you upon waking with a flirt-roll hello.
I LOVE play - I’m not fussy about what I’ll play with, if it moves or is movable, I’m locked in! I’m
especially keen on interactive toys, wand/stick toys, balls, mice, tunnels, my brother Cheese’s tail is also good fun! I love joint play with other cats or people, I’m also happy playing independently. I’ll come check in with you while I’m playing, hear a toy, and go right back to it.
I’m a food grazer, world-watching professional, and I want to be part of everything you do. I’m still a bit skittish if startled, but I’m getting braver and more vocal every week - I didn’t meow until 6 weeks into foster care!
Cheese grooms me, I groom him, we happily share everything without issue and world-watch side by side.
I’ve been indoor-only in foster, respectful with resident desexed cats, and back off when told. I need to stay indoor-only - outdoors I’d likely get scared by movements or noise, hide like a pro, and be impossible to find or catch. Keep me safe, warm, and loved, and I’ll do the same for you.
Untested with kids and dogs.
Cheese (10 month old male ginger)
Double cheese, extra chirps — that’s me!
I’m Cheese, an 10-11 month old ginger & white tuxedo boy, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and litter perfect (I’m just VERY enthusiastic about burying, it’s nothing a litter trap mat can’t handle). I’m part of a bonded pair with Mac - we must be adopted together.
I came into care with an infected bite/abscess on my front leg. After antibiotics it’s healed beautifully and I’ve come right out of my shell.
I’m a total chatterbox - I chirp and meow to tell you all about my day. Once I’ve settled in, I’ll head-butt, nuzzle, and lean into you for pats. I’m super food-motivated (food = love), love a quiet chill space to relax, then I’ll happily join in for play sessions - we just have to contend with Mac jumping in thinking every play is for him too.
While I’ll initially be the first to approach you and accept physical affection, I can take a while to warm up and come out of my shell. I like to feel safe and settled first.
I’m good with male kittens and desexed males, but I can be a bit territorial around intact male smells and I’m still learning to respect the resident senior girl-cat likes her space. I sometimes get too up in her space (she’s a little slower to accept fosters), then miss the memo when she is communicating very clear boundaries with hisses and growls. I haven’t learnt yet that if she does that and then moves to put space between us, she’s not inviting me to follow and get in her face. I’m just curious, interested to investigate and smell everything, and think everyone is just a new friend I haven’t made yet. I’ll get there, I just need a patient adopter to keep guiding me, or to go to a house where any resident cats know how to handle a pushy juvenile who hasn’t learnt all his cat-manners yet.
Mac grooms me, I groom him, we share food and world-watch side by side.
I’ve been indoor-only in foster and need to stay indoor-only, as I hide when scared or overstimulated and
outdoors I’d likely get scared by movements or noise, hide like a pro, and be impossible to find or catch. Keep me safe, warm, and loved, and I’ll do the same for you.
Untested with kids and dogs.
If you have room for two, Cheese and I will be the sweetest, funniest, smoochiest housemates you’ve ever had. Adopt us together and you’ll be very lucky.
