Ash and Murfee: The Double Shadow Duo
Meet Ash: a bonded pair with his brother Murfee. They are looking for a forever home together. They love being their foster carers shadow, exploring cupboards and assisting with all household activities, including accompanying all bathroom visits.
They both love their food, a close second is a free lap to sit on and purr. Both cats are very social, love visitors and making eye contact.
Ash is a large bundle of pure love who settled in very quickly to foster care, sleeping on his foster carers bed from the first night. He loves to be near people, whether that’s on a lap, curled up next to your feet or laying across your keyboard. If you open a cupboard, you can expect Ash to be there with you. He loves his food. Ash loves his brother Murfee, and they are never far apart. Ash loves to play with toys and has a great skill of catching the fish on the end of a toy wand. Ash is very social and enjoys sharing his love with visitors he has just met! Ash has a keen eye for an empty lap.
Playtime is fully embraced, and Ash is surprising agile for a big cat. Ash loves to chase toys. Ash was provided with a new cat tower in his foster home; he prefers the cardboard box it came in! He is generally very gentle but when excited can give a little ‘love bit’ to his carer or his brother. Once play time is over, Ash quickly settles and will curl up on a lap or the couch for a well earned nap.
Ash’s coat is exceptionally soft, and he takes pride in grooming himself and his brother. Ash uses his litter tray and is respectful of furniture and uses a cat scratching post.
Ash would be suited to most family situations, alongside his much-loved brother Murfee. Ash appears relaxed with his foster carer leaving to go to work. He loves to run up and great anyone at the front door and welcome them home.
Why You Need Us Both
We settled into foster care instantly and are looking for our permanent place to call home. If you are looking for two dedicated, furry shadows to follow you everywhere, we are your perfect match!
As they are a bonded, Ash and Murfee will be rehomed as a pair. You can see their joint profile here.
Could you do with a gentle giant in your life? If so, look no further than Ash, the gentlest of giants.
Thank you to Liv Morison of Liv Morison Photography for the fantastic photos of Ash and Murfee.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
