Max was surrendered to ARK as a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Based on appearance alone — and not on DNA testing — we suspect there may also be some Tibetan Spaniel in his background, which would make his a Tibalier.
Whatever he's a Cav or a Tibalier, Max is an utterly delightful little dog.
He is very sweet-natured, friendly and well socialised, with that lovely Cavalier softness and affection together with a bright, playful little personality. He seems to go through life with a permanent smile on his face.
Max is good with other dogs and had an absolute ball at the groomers recently, zooming around and playing with the other dogs. Our groomer loved him too.
He hasn't been exposed to cats since being in our care.
He travels happily in the car, walks nicely on leash and is comfortable being out and about. He is affectionate, companionable and clearly enjoys being part of whatever is going on.
At just two years old, Max has his whole life ahead of him and would love a home where he is included in family life, given plenty of companionship and treated as a much-loved member of the household.
All of Max’s vet work is complete and he is ready for his new family.
If you are looking for a cheerful, affectionate, well-socialised little dog with charm in spades, Max may be your boy. ❤️
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
We don't know if Max has been on heartworm prevention treatment. However, the Southern Downs is considered a low-risk area for heartworm, so ARK does not routinely heartworm test dogs in our care or administer ongoing heartworm prevention. We recommend that adopters discuss heartworm prevention with their own veterinarian and commence a preventative program that's appropriate for the area in which the dog will be living. If a successful applicant would like Max heartworm tested before adoption, this can be arranged on request.
