Hi, I’m Ava!

I’m a sweet little girl who is still very much a puppy and learning how the world works. I’m affectionate, excitable and absolutely love being around my people. In fact, I love company so much that I’m already showing some signs of separation anxiety, which isn’t uncommon in my breed.

Because I’m still so young, I need a patient family who understands that I’m not a finished product yet. I’ll need ongoing guidance, routine, training and reassurance to help me grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.

I can walk on lead, sit for my food and I’m crate trained. My lead manners are still a work in progress and, like most puppies, I can get very excited and jump up when I want attention. I’m also still learning my toileting routine, so my new family will need to be consistent about taking me outside regularly and helping me understand what is expected.

The biggest thing I need is a calm, quiet home where someone is home more often than not. I really struggle when I feel left out or alone, and I can become vocal when anxious. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors with my people, rather than being left outside for long periods, would suit me best.

I would preferably like a home without children under 12. If there are children in my new family, they need to be calm, gentle, dog-savvy and confident around an excitable young puppy. When I’m overstimulated, I can jump up and grab at clothing for attention, so I need adults who can calmly redirect me and continue teaching me appropriate behaviour rather than becoming overwhelmed by my puppy energy.

I enjoy play, interaction and exercise, but I also need help learning how to switch off and relax.

With the right person, plenty of consistency and a gentle approach, I have every chance of becoming a wonderful companion. I just need someone who has the time to help me feel safe, build my confidence and show me how to be the best girl I can be.-
