About Frank
We can't lie to you... Frank isn't doing himself any favours with the face.
While other cats are busy looking cute, innocent and approachable, Frank sits there looking like you've personally inconvenienced him. He has the expression of a cat who's just received an email marked "urgent" at 4:59pm on a Friday. The kind of face that suggests he's got strong opinions about customer service and intends to write a letter of complaint.
The funny thing is that absolutely none of it is true.
Frank is genuinely one of the easiest cats to win over. Offer him a treat and suddenly you're not a stranger anymore. Give him a few more and you're probably his favourite person in the building. Shelter staff quickly discovered that beneath the intimidating scowl is a sweet, affectionate young cat who actually quite enjoys people.
He's not complicated. Frank likes food, likes attention, and likes having his creature comforts taken care of. He's adapted well to shelter life and takes things in his stride, proving himself to be a pretty easy-going boy despite looking like he's one minor inconvenience away from contacting management.
Unfortunately, first impressions matter, and cats like Frank can sometimes get overlooked. People see his serious face before they get the chance to see his personality. They don't realise that while he looks like a tough critic, he's actually a big softie who's just waiting for someone to take him home.
The truth is, we don't know what Frank's life looked like before he arrived at the shelter. We don't know how many people stopped to give him a chance, or whether anyone ever looked beyond that famous scowl and saw the sweet cat underneath. What we do know is that he's here now, hoping someone finally will.
Frank deserves a family who can laugh at his permanently grumpy expression while appreciating the lovely nature behind it. Someone who understands that the best cats aren't always the ones who photograph well. Sometimes they're the ones who surprise you.
And Frank is absolutely the kind of cat who will surprise you.
So if you've ever wanted a cat who looks like a villain but is actually just a treat-addicted sweetheart, Frank is waiting to meet you. All he needs is someone willing to look past the frown, take a chance on him, and give him the home he deserves.
We promise that underneath that judgmental little face is a young cat who's ready to be loved.
Frank is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Frank - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
