Hello! My name is Freya and I am a beautiful, but very timid, shar pei cross staffy pooch.

I have been in care since I was a puppy as I am very unsure of people. I cannot be patted or touched, but once I get to know you, will lick your toes, and nudge you to occasionally remind you that I really do care. I just don't like the sensation of being touched.

My earlier life had zero human interaction and, although I have been in foster care for over a year now, I just cannot get past the fear of a human touching me. I nap on the lounge right next to my foster mum, but if she reaches out towards me, I move away. I do prefer women over men and am intimidated by bouncy children so gravitate towards the lady of the house.

I love spending time with my foster mum outside when she is gardening, following her everywhere she goes. Just because I can't be hugged doesn't mean I am not a great companion. I even run up and down in laps with her for every strip when she mows the lawn.

My happy place is amongst the palm trees in the yard, or playing with my doggy friends. I am very, very social with dogs of all sizes and must have a doggy companion in my forever home. My best friend in my foster home is a 40kg boxer and I adore playing with the little pups and bigger dogs who come to stay with us.

I am crate trained and sleep in my crate each night quite happily, am completely house trained and am a quiet pooch. It's very rare to hear me bark.

If you are not a huggy person, but are looking for a companion, then I may just be the perfect dog for you.

Priorities in my forever family are:
: A calm home,
: A friendly doggy companion,
: A garden with a hiding spot for when you have visitors,
: No children that may want to touch me.

I know that's a big ask, especially coming from a dog like me, but when you build my trust and I lay right next to you on the lounge, or lick your face if you nap there, I have the ability to make you feel like royalty.

I hope to meet you very soon... I will be the dog hidden in the bushy palm trees in the garden.
