Rupert

Rupert's path to finding his forever home has been a little bumpier than most. After needing a leg surgically repaired after an accident, he found himself in foster care while he recovered and figured out what his next chapter would look like. Thankfully, Rupert has handled this change with the same attitude he approaches most things in life: calm, confident, and entirely on his own terms.

One thing you'll quickly learn about Rupert is that he's not your stereotypical affectionate cat. He's not looking to be carried around like a baby, he's not interested in being your personal shadow, and he's certainly not signing up for compulsory cuddle sessions. Rupert prefers to keep things casual. He likes being near his people, often choosing a spot nearby where he can observe proceedings, supervise household activities, and generally make sure you're doing everything correctly.

That doesn't mean Rupert doesn't enjoy affection. Quite the opposite. When he's in the mood, he can be incredibly sweet and affectionate. The difference is that Rupert believes affection should be a choice, not an expectation. He appreciates humans who understand that friendship isn't measured by how often a cat sits on your lap. Sometimes it's measured by sharing a room, exchanging a slow blink, and quietly existing together.

What Rupert loves most in the world, however, isn't people.

It's other cats.

Seriously, this boy absolutely adores feline company.

His foster carer watched Rupert truly come out of his shell once he was introduced to other cats. His confidence grew, his personality blossomed, and he seemed genuinely happier with feline friends around him. Because of this, Rupert is looking for a home where he can have a cat companion. Whether that's being adopted alongside a friend or joining a home with a welcoming resident cat, having another feline buddy is not just a bonus for Rupert, it's a big part of what helps him thrive.

Rupert's ideal home is one that understands and respects cat boundaries. He's not a cat who wants constant handling or attention, and he will do best with people who appreciate him for exactly who he is. Give him space, let him make the rules about affection, and you'll gain a wonderful companion who genuinely enjoys being part of your life.

Think of Rupert as the perfect housemate. He'll happily hang out nearby, won't judge your television choices (much), and appreciates good company without feeling the need to be attached to you 24/7.

After everything he's been through, Rupert is ready to find the forever home he deserves. Preferably one with a feline friend waiting for him and humans who understand that the best relationships are built on mutual respect... and perhaps a healthy appreciation for doing your own thing.
