About Cheddar
*In foster care in Rozelle, Sydney*
Cheddar is a gorgeous ginger fellow with a gentle, solemn soul and a serious appreciation for the finer things in life - namely food, playtime and comfortable laps!
Compared to his energetic brother Swiss, Cheddar is a much calmer and quieter boy. He has a lovely laidback nature and is generally very chill. He enjoys playing, particularly with toys he can chase, but he’s equally happy to settle down somewhere cosy and watch the world go by :)
Cheddar is a sweet little character who can take some time to feel settled in a new environment. Once he knows he’s safe, his affectionate side comes out, and one of his favourite places to be is right beside you (or on you!).
If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing companion who enjoys a good play, loves his food and would very much like to spend some quality time getting up close and purrsonal, Cheddar could be the perfect boy for you!
Like all Maggie’s pets, Cheddar is microchipped, desexed, and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... is with kind and patient humans who understand that settling in may take some time. I'll benefit from a quiet environment, gentle interactions and the freedom to build confidence at my own pace.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Low to moderate, I'd say. I do like a good play session, especially when there’s a fun toy involved, but I’m equally happy relaxing somewhere cosy or settling onto your lap for a quiet cuddle :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Though I’m a soft-natured and gentle, I can be a bit shy while I’m getting to know you. I’d be happiest with older, calm children who understand that I need patience, space and gentle interactions while I settle in.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I’ll need slow and careful introductions to any resident pets. I grew up with cats and get along with my brother Swiss, but I haven't met any dogs at this stage.
Medical notes
Cheddar has had a recent dental clean and a few teeth extracted.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
