Princess

Darling Princess was born and grew up in a remote community in the Northern Territory. Earlier in the year the community was flooded and the population evacuated for 3 months. The Animal Welfare team evacuated all the dogs, including Princess and her mates to an outstation on higher ground, flying in frequently to feed and care for them.

When the community re-opened the dogs were brought back, but Princess’ family did not return. Princess and her mates were taken in by a local lady who cared for them. Unfortunately on cracker night they all got frightened and ran off. In the morning they returned, all with injuries of varying severity. At this point she was surrendered for treatment, care and rehoming with her old family’s consent. She has done really well and is all healed up now.

Princess is the quiet achiever amongst her crew. She is a humble dog who does not push herself forward and yet is so endearing. She has a calm and comfortable presence in the home. Part of her charm is that she appreciates every bit of attention she gets and every thing that is done for her. She shows this by wagging her tail - when she is spoken to, when she gets a pat and a cuddle, even when she’s eating her dinner! Her favourite thing is having a big cuddle up and belly scratch, and lots of encouraging words.

She loves a walk, a play in the yard, a comfortable nap and of course her tucker, especially an occasional bone. Princess loves the beach and a run through the water, as well as a bush run. She is excellent of lead and naturally obedient. She can be trusted with kids, adults and other dogs - such a mild mannered girl.

We can see Princess adapting to a variety of domestic settings, especially where there are kids somewhere in the scene. She is just so nice you can’t help but love her.
