🐾 ✨ Callas "Calli" Gallucci — The Sweetest Girl Looking for Her Forever Home ✨
Calli is an absolutely adorable young girl with a heart as big as her butt wiggle. She LOVES people — all people — and greets everyone like they're her new best friend. She's affectionate, gentle, funny, and has the kind of loving nature that makes you melt.
Her foster carer says "She is the most friendly and affectionate dog we have ever had — and that includes our own dogs. She is absolutely lovely."
And it's true. Calli is a walking cuddle. She loves curling up on your lap, resting her face in the crook of your arm, holding hands, and keeping a paw on you just to feel close. She is a world‑class snuggler.
Smart, eager, and learning fast
Calli is clever and picks things up quickly. In just two days she learned:
how to use the doggy door
how to sit
With gentle guidance and consistency, she will continue to learn beautifully.
Her Personality is Blossoming
After three weeks in foster care, Calli has relaxed and started showing her playful, silly side. She loves:
playing fetch
going for walks
meeting new people
exploring the world with curiosity and joy
She's currently living with three dogs and, despite not being socialised previously, she has integrated well and is learning manners and boundaries.
She is scared of unfamiliar dogs on walks and can be reactive, but she is young, smart, and eager to please. With patient training and slow introductions, she has every chance of improving.
Her Past
Calli's previous person had health issues and needed to rehome her. We know she:
slept outside
had at least one litter (possibly used for breeding)
wasn't walked
was overweight
But we also know she was loved — her desire to be held, cuddled, and close to her humans shows she has known affection. She simply wasn't exposed to the outside world or other dogs, which explains her reactivity and her "teenager energy."
Training & Progress
1. Toilet Training
She is progressing well:
uses puppy pads/newspapers
toilets on walks
uses the doggy door She needs continued training, but she is smart and willing.
2. Lead Walking
For a dog who was never walked, she's doing wonderfully. She's excited, curious, and happy — until she sees another dog. Slow, gentle exposure will help her build confidence.
3. Other Dogs
She's living with three dogs and doing well, learning boundaries and settling into group life. She can get stressed with high excitement, so calm dogs suit her best. Street encounters are overwhelming for her right now, so slow, controlled introductions over time are ideal.
4. Lap Dog Tendencies
She LOVES being held and will jump up to get onto your lap. She's learning boundaries in foster care.
5. Sleeping
She sleeps beautifully through the night in a crate in her foster carers' bedroom. She likes being close to her people.
6. Play
She has started playing with toys and loves fetch. She doesn't yet know how to play with other dogs but is watching and learning.
Her Ideal Home
Calli's perfect home is one where she is:
loved
included
gently trained
made to feel safe
She would thrive with:
someone home often;
possibly with older children (she jumps with excitement) to get lots of attention
a calm environment at first
patient humans who understand she's still learning
Once she feels safe, she will blossom quickly — and give back tenfold.

Calli is sweet, affectionate, funny, cuddly, and SOOOO cute. She just wants to love you, and she will steal your heart fast. She is a work in progress — but she is already a wonderful dog with enormous potential to become an even better one.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

No known pre-existing conditions. Callas is a healthy girl. Weight: 9.7kg.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
