Spot

This gorgeous boy was born and grew up in a remote community in the Northern Territory. He was separated from his owners during a severe flood and his family did not return to claim him. While in care he was frightened by fireworks and ran off, returning sadly with a severely injured leg. At this point Spot was surrendered to us for treatment, care and rehabilitation.

Eventually his leg had to be amputated. As dogs generally do, he has adapted well and is now happy and active, running around and wrestling with his doggy mates and cuddling up so sweetly.

Spot loves his off lead runs, hooning around in the yard with the other dogs and playing with his chew toys. He is a naturally well mannered, sociable dog with a gentle nature and is eager to do the right thing. As a boy from the bush, he has enjoyed some trips to Darwin where he has coped well with walking on the lead and meeting unfamiliar people, dogs and situations. He loves the beach and a splash in the water, but loves the bush as well. He will go off exploring but keeps an eye out and comes back like a good boy.

He would make a wonderful companion for a single person, but would fit into a family setting as well. He is a cat friendly fellow, who played gently with the clinic cat when he was in veterinary care. He will be in Adelaide in early October, so should you wish to apply for him, you will have a chance to meet him and see in person what a special fellow he is.
