Meet sweet Murgatroyd, who is ready to meet her forever people..

Murgatroyd came from a rural pound so we have little information about her background. She is nervous and avoidant of men, although slowly improving. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl towards her foster mum, following her around the house like a quiet shadow. She can be a little bit cheeky and tries to check out what's on the kitchen bench, as her nose is at the right height for investigation, but she is a well-mannered young lady.

Murgatroyd is sharing her foster home with a small female terrier. They are friendly together, doing zoomies in the backyard and sharing daily walks. She was also fine with a medium sized, boisterous male dog who she shared her foster home with for a couple of weeks. Murgatroyd has shown reactivity towards some larger dogs on walks. Information shared by the pound said that she was attacked when younger by a bigger dog, which likely explains her occasional reactivity. She is also sharing her foster home with 2 cats. She is mostly separated from them by baby gates, but when she has been in the same space as them she has shown no reactivity and even gently touched noses! She is house trained and was taught to toilet on a puppy training pad with fake grass prior to coming in to rescue.

Murgatroyd has been left at home outside on the days when her foster mum works, and has done okay. However, she has been known to chew on branches of plants or pieces of wood if left for long periods.

Murgatroyd is a big, gentle girl who has so much love to give to her forever family. Due to her past, she is likely to be most comfortable in a female-only household where she can slowly overcome her fear of men. She will make the most wonderful companion for someone who is looking for a calm, gentle friend who loves to be around her people and go on daily walks together. Can you be that person or family?
