About Storm
🩷 Meet Storm – Our Baby Hippo 🦛
Storm had a terrible start to life. She was used as a breeding machine before being rescued, and now she is finally getting the chance to discover what it means to be loved, spoiled and treated like the special girl she is.
Storm is a big girl weighing in at 51kg, you would never believe this girl was skin and bones when she came into care. She has an even bigger heart and one of Storm’s favourite things in the world is carrying her teddy around in her mouth — and if she can manage to carry two teddies at once, even better! 🧸🧸 She is such a funny, lovable girl with plenty of personality.
Storm loves going for walks and is always happy to get out and explore. She is still learning her manners on lead, however, and can be strong and excitable, so she will need an owner who is physically capable of handling a big, enthusiastic girl and is prepared to continue working with her.
Storm has tested well with other dogs and has shown that she can enjoy canine company. However, we believe Storm would absolutely love being the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the attention and finally experience what it feels like to be someone’s very special girl.
She is still learning how to manage her excitement and can become a little enthusiastic when she’s happy, so we feel she would be best suited to a home without small children.
Storm has spent too much of her life being valued for what she could produce. Now it’s her turn to simply be a dog — to carry her teddies, enjoy her walks, curl up with her people and be showered with the love she deserves. 🩷
