About Kaya
🐾 Meet Kaya 🐾
Female | 14 weeks old | Dingo x
If there was ever a puppy determined to make the absolute most of her second chance at life, it’s Kaya! 🧡
Kaya is sweet, hilarious, incredibly friendly and absolutely FULL of energy. She’s the kind of puppy who throws herself into life at 100% and makes you laugh while doing it.
Even before we met her, Kaya was easy to spot in photos of the litter — while everyone else was hanging back, she was always the little face right at the front of the crate, wanting to know what was happening and making sure she wasn’t missing out.
And when the puppies finally arrived in WA, that personality came shining through.
After travelling across the country, we expected eight understandably frightened and overwhelmed puppies to step off the plane. Not Kaya. While some of her siblings needed time and space to work out whether these strange new humans could be trusted, Kaya’s attitude was basically “Hi! I trust you! Now PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE!” 😂
The moment she was finally able to stretch her legs, she celebrated with the most spectacular freedom zoomies — running around like an absolute lunatic and seemingly delighted with this exciting new chapter she’d found herself in.
Kaya and her siblings originally came from NSW, where the nine puppies and their mum had been taken in to be euthanised. Thankfully, a wonderful lady stepped in and rescued the entire family before contacting us for help.
After the mammoth logistical effort of getting eight of the puppies all the way from NSW to WA, Kaya is now safely in Perth and ready to find a family who can keep up with her!
Their mum is a typical dingo, while dad is a camp dog (dingo cross) who displays considerably more domestic-dog behaviour — including coming when called, even while out at the beach. The puppies appear to have inherited different combinations of traits from both parents, and Kaya is currently showing us a wonderfully confident, social and adventurous personality.
As friendly and trusting as she is, however, Kaya is still a dingo cross and not your average puppy. Her needs and behaviours may change as she matures, so her forever family needs to understand and be prepared for everything that can come with sharing their life with a dingo cross.
With that much energy and curiosity packed into one little body, Kaya will need plenty of physical and mental enrichment, positive training, socialisation and opportunities to explore. Secure, dingo-appropriate containment may be required, and homes with small pets may not be suitable due to the potential for prey drive as she matures.
Kaya is looking for an active family who wants a puppy to be part of their adventures and, most importantly, someone who can keep up!
She’s sweet, trusting, completely hilarious and just a little bit crazy. After nearly never getting the chance to experience life at all, Kaya seems determined to enjoy every second of it. 🧡
