Hello, I'm Carl.

I'm nearly thirteen, and I think I've earned the right to call myself an old gentleman.

For almost my whole life, I had one person. We grew old together, sharing the quiet little moments that, somehow, become a whole lifetime. He was my person, and I was his.

Then, sometimes, life is unfair.

My elderly owner needed to go into care, and even though neither of us wanted to, we had to part ways. After almost thirteen years together, I suddenly found myself looking for a new place to call home.

I think I'm ready for my next chapter now. I'm not looking for a big adventure anymore. I'd much rather spend my days in a sunny spot, enjoying fine dining, good company and quiet conversations about the old days.

I'd especially love a companion closer to my own vintage. Someone who understands that old boys still have plenty of love to give.

I'm not looking to replace my person. You can't replace a lifetime. I'm just hoping someone might be willing to share the rest of mine.

I imagine she might say, "Thank you for the adventure." And I'd simply say, "Thank you for all the years."

Now, perhaps, it's time for one more little adventure.
